ToHN Daily: Milestone for Connor McDavid, Habs still reeling

Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman both scored a pair of goals in Edmonton’s 5-1 win at Arizona. McDavid notched his 200th and 201st career goals in his 411th game. He has talked about wanting to shoot more so do not be surprised if he takes a run at the Rocket Richard Trophy this season.

Connor McDavid leads the league with six goals and 11 points in just four games this season.

Calgary: Jacob Markstrom stole a win for the Flames in Detroit.

Montreal: Kotkaniemi scores in return as Habs lose fifth straight game to start the season.

Vancouver: The Canucks played the ‘perfect road game’ to sink Chicago.

Toronto: Rasmus Sandin has looked good and could push for a bigger role on the Maple Leafs blueline.

Florida: The Panthers are riding high after defeating the Avalanche.

San Jose: The Sharks downed Ottawa 2-1 to run their record to 3-0, spoiling Brady Tkachuk’s debut for the Senators.

Washington: Daniel Sprong, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and Alex Ovechkin lead the way to a Capitals victory at New Jersey. The Devils are trying to make do without Jack Hughes.

N.Y. Islanders: Frustration is building when it comes to lack of production from the second line, especially after Thursday’s OT loss at Columbus.

Pittsburgh: Sidney Crosby is back at practice for the Penguins. With Jeff Carter out due to COVID-19, the Penguins are perilously thin down the middle of the ice.

Ottawa: Senators rookie centre Shane Pinto appeared to suffer a shoulder injury against San Jose.

Winnipeg: Kyle Connor had two goals and an assist to lift the Jets to a 5-1 win against Anaheim. Some fans still tossed hats on the ice anyway.

Winnipeg: Jets win but Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler are sidelined by COVID-19 protocols.
